Whatsapp reduces video status limit to 15Sec in India2 min read

After a long interval of time, WhatsApp reduces the video status time from 30 seconds to 15 seconds. In 2017, WhatsApp introduced the status feature. At the time of introduction, the limit is 90sec to 3 minutes of video up to 16mb. This update is only in India.

Whatsapp announced this limitation is made as temporary. This limitation is to reduce the traffic in servers. Because of the lockdown in the country more number of peoples sharing videos as a Status. This cause more traffics in WhatsApp server. To reduce traffics, they reduce the size and length of the videos.

Also, other streaming platforms like Netflix, Hotstar and Amazon Prime Video have also been changed the default video quality by 480p to reduce pressure on servers and social media sites have also taken the call to lower video resolution on their content to deal with traffic.
