Jio 5G beta trial expands to Chennai; 5G-powered Wi-Fi services launched

Posted on 24/10/202224/10/2022 By Techuser

After rolling out 5G services in Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, and Varanasi earlier this month as part of a beta testing, Reliance Jio has officially announced the introduction of 5G services in Chennai. According to the business, invited Jio users in Chennai can enjoy unlimited 5G data at speeds of up to 1 Gbps and use JioTrue5G.

Additionally, the business has started offering Wi-Fi services enabled by 5G in Nathdwara, Rajasthan. This service will be accessible in busy sites like educational institutions, churches, train stations, bus stops, and commercial hubs.

During the Jio Welcome Offer time, this service will be provided free of charge to Jio customers. According to the firm, non-Jio consumers will also get access to 5G-powered Wi-Fi services so they may try it out before switching to Jio for the complete, limitless service.

Commenting on the announcement, Akash M Ambani, Chairman, Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited, said:

Service to humanity is one of the most endearing facets of Indian culture, the roots of which can be found in our socio-religious traditions.

As stated earlier, 5G cannot remain an exclusive service to the privileged few or those in our largest cities. It must be available to every citizen, every home, and every business across India. This is a step in that direction to enable every Indian with JioTrue5G.

Today, we have powered the first True5G-enabled Wi-Fi service at the holy town of Nathdwara and the temple of Lord Srinath Ji. With this, we will power many more such locations and allow them to trial our services. In addition, we welcome Chennai as our latest city to be added to Jio True5G Welcome Offer.
